Fitness, Flexibility & Therapeutics
For health, happiness and an enriched life

Yoga relieves stress and nurtures change and creativity. Classes are mixed levels, for beginners and those who have practiced yoga. Start where you are. Enjoy increasing strength, flexibility and body awareness through breath, movement and relaxation.  You are never too "tight" or old to practice yoga and benefit. Yoga is for every body.

Vinyasa Yoga

Vinyasa is a series of specifically placed movements linked by breath awakening consciousness. This vigorous yoga practice, accompanied by meditative music, is both serious and playful. Listen. Feel. Let your breath flow gracefully through a full dynamic range of stretching and strengthening asanas. Elements of core Pilates are incorporated. Move joyfully, mindfully, at your own pace, uniting body~mind~spirit. End with a restorative relaxation.

Mellow Vinyasa Yoga

Cultivating awareness, Mellow Vinyasa is a slower dynamic style of yoga, which allows time for a stronger focus on fundamentals and alignment. This class is appropriate for both beginners and ongoing students.

Age Less Gentle Yoga

Meditative breathing exercises relax, energize and support strength, flexibility, and balance. In addition, this relaxed class will help improve joint mobility. Increase inner and outer balance, calmly. Adapt this practice to your ability and needs. Move at your own pace. Sit, stand, use a chair, mat, or the wall. Every body welcome to this restorative healing process.

Personalized Private and Semi-Private Sessions

Enjoy yoga designed for you at the Rivers of Light Studio or at your home or office at a time that fits your schedule. Caryl focuses on your needs and specific issues to create your own personalized yoga program - maximizing your potential and increasing wellness.

I have been working with Caryl on a weekly basis for two years and have gotten immeasurable benefit from the practice.

My overall fitness has improved, but most importantly has been the progress in the area of flexibility, an area that does not receive much attention in my other activities but is becoming increasingly more important the older I get. My work with Caryl on flexibility has resulted in a near total elimination of my lower back problems.

I feel like Caryl is part yoga instructor and part personal trainer. She custom designs sessions to address my chronic problem areas, incorporating stretching and strength exercises into the yoga practice.

She has an intuitive sense of what is and what isn't working and is very flexible and non-intimidating in her approach. I look forward to my weekly sessions and notice a physical difference when I miss a week.

The time I spend with Caryl is both a workout and a form of stress reduction. I forget about my problems and business issues within a few minutes of starting our practice and leave feeling relaxed and focused.
